Packed very securely and arrived without a single chip. The amber glaze is slightly richer in tone than on my laptop screen, which I actually prefer. Four stars only because shipping took an extra couple days.
Appreciate that the manufacturer took the time to back the entire porcelain plate with smooth cork. No screeching noises when sliding it across my polished dining table, and zero scratches.
We hung this on our dining room wall and enjoyed it as art ever since. Last weekend when friends came over, I took it down to use as a dessert tray with small pastries. Everyone noticed it immediately and commented on how charming it was.
Often gold accents on home decor look gaudy or yellow-painted. Here, the gold line work is crisp and sits naturally within the glaze. Looks like traditional Asian palace ceramics.
The craftsmanship on the blossom is gorgeous. Do be careful when lifting it because the solid porcelain has real weight. Make sure you use a proper nail in the drywall if hanging it on the wall.
Wooden trays always end up warped or splintering after a few washings. This golden peony tray is heavy solid porcelain with a protective cork back. I use one for afternoon pastries and tea, and another on my bedroom dresser for daily jewelry. It looks like high end artisan pottery.
What surprised me most was running my palm across the surface. You can feel every petal contour and golden branch. It makes an ordinary coffee table look curated. I use it to hold an incense burner and match striker.

The golden peony petals are sculpted with subtle ridges, giving the whole tray an unmistakable three dimensional feel. The warm amber background matches my mid-century credenza wonderfully. Looks far more expensive than it was.
